Learn How to Knit             Skill Level: Introductory

Learn all the basics of knitting. This is the class for you if you’ve never picked up a pair of needles or if it’s been way too long since you’ve tried. You will learn to cast-on, knit, purl, increase, decrease and cast-off. Let us guide you on your journey into fun with all kinds of project ideas & different fibers. Ages 8 and up welcome.

Lace Edge Winter Shawl             Skill Level: Intermediate

Cozy up your winter in this elegant & lacy yet still warm shawl. You'll learn a vine lace border stitch and then shape it into a crescent shape with short rows in stockinette stitch.

Learn How to Crochet             Skill Level: Introductory

Learn the basic stitches of crochet like chain, single/double/triple crochet stitches plus much more. Upon completion of this class you’ll be ready for great things such as home décor items, scarves, sweaters and baby things. Ages 8 and up.

Once Upon A Time Hooded Capelet  
                                    Skill Level: Intermediate

Cape and Hood are created in Garter Stitch using short rows. This is knit in 2 pieces then sewn together. The sample used Gina chunky for a fun stripe but a solid yarn would be beautiful. This is my own design inspired by a request from Peggy.

Class Dates:    Tuesdays, Feb. 3 & 10 6-8pm

Materials:       Gina Chunky or other chunky wt yarn,

                  needle for sewing

Drop Stitch Cabled Cowl     
                              Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

This cowl looks harder than it is. Simple cables, big thick yarn and size 15 needles make quick work of this easy cowl. The laddering in between the cables happens when you cast off and drop some of your stitches. It's really fun! You will learn cables and dropping stitches.

Class Dates:    Thursdays, Feb. 5 & 12 3:30-5:30pm

Materials:       Malabrigo Rasta or other Super Bulky yarn,
                  24” - size 15 circular needle,
                  bulky cable needle
                  stitch marker

Entrelac Workshop          Skill Level: Intermediate

Entrelac is an interwoven design that looks complicated until you do it. If you can knit & purl, knit stitches together & pick up stitches, you can easily do entrelac. If you choose to learn to “knit backwards” it will go fast. There are many patterns to choose from when using this technique.

Class Dates:    Saturday, Feb. 7 1-4pm

Materials:       worsted wt yarn – self striping or 2 diff. Colors
                 Needles sized appropriately for worsted wt yarn

Sprig Cloche                         Skill Level: Intermediate

The Sprig Cloche is a face-framing hat design with a sprig of foliage gracefully wrapping around the asymmetrical brim. It is a fun pattern with interesting construction, and an elegant result! Students will learn short rows.

                         Tuesdays, Feb. 17, 24 & Mar. 3 3:30-5:30pm

Wire Knitz Bracelet            Skill Level: Introductory

This is a great project when you need to make a gift in a hurry. You can make one to dress up or one for a more casual look. No knitting or crochet skills necessary. You can make a few in an afternoon. There are so many colors to choose from too.

Pin Loom Weaving              Skill Level: Introductory

A pin loom is a tiny loom with tremendous possibilities. The Zoom Loom is easy to take with you-- weave anywhere, any time. Experiment with an idea and see the result in less than fifteen minutes. And they're FUN! Class #1 introduces the Loom and gives you an opportunity to build your pin loom weaving skills while creating a Winter White Loom Bloom. (for the February course, a "Rose Red Loom Bloom") Class #2 allows each weaver to explore a number of project choices including cell phone case, water bottle holder or soft bowl while teaching joining and finishing techniques.

Cabled Brioche Loop Scarf         Skill Level: Intermediate

If you've always shied away from the brioche stitch but love the look – this is the class for you. You'll spend some time just practicing the stitch before you get into the scarf, and with Carolyn's guidance you'll wonder just what you were afraid of. You'll need two colors of yarn which make a cool shadow effect.

Class Dates:    Mondays, Feb. 16, 23 & Mar. 2 3:30-5:30pm

Materials:       2 colors of Baby Alpaca Worsted or other worsted wt. yarn
                 Needles: size 7 or 8
                 one large button

Cream and Sugar Cowl              Skill Level: Intermediate

This pattern is by Alana Dakos of "Never Not Knitting". This cowl is knit with soft cables and would be a nice introduction to cabling and reading charts. The sample is made of Malabrigo Sock yarn in the yummy green but we have many choices of lovely yarns appropriate for this project.

**Come to class with a gauge swatch done in stockinette stitch in the round.**

Kids Earflap Hat                 Skill Level: Advanced Beginner

This hat not only looks adorable but it will keep your little one warm too! Our sample is knit in a self striping sock yarn that makes a cute pattern as you go. The pattern has sizes newborn-3 years old. You will learn short row shaping and decreasing.

Arm Knitting                        Skill Level: Beginner

Crochet Chain Cowl           Skill Level: Beginner

You'll get plenty of compliments on this unique project. Pick a plain yarn or a fun print to do a really long chain that is then wrapped many times around to the length of your choice. You'll then learn how to bind it together and accent your creation with a great button or two. So fun!
