Adult Surprise Jacket
Skill Level:  Adventurous Advanced Beginner

This is one of Elizabeth Zimmerman's most popular patterns.  It is adapted from the Baby Surprise Jacket.  It is knit back and forth  in one piece with increases and decreases for shaping.  When you are done with the knitting you will have something that looks like it might be a blanket.  With a few folds and two seams it will transform into a jacket.  Surprise!  This jacket is most dramatic in stripes of many colors.
*Requirements:  You must be able to knit and measure a swatch.                You'll need to bring a 4"x4" garter stitch swatch to the first class,              using your intended yarn.  There is simple math used in this                      formula pattern.  You also need the width measurement of a                    sweater that fits.
Class Dates:  Wednesdays, March 18, 25, April 15 (& 22nd, if necessary) 6-8pm

Knit Easter Eggs

Easter is coming soon, and these cute little eggs will be perfect for baskets or other decorations.  With fingering weight yarn in two or three colors, knit these eggs flat and sew them up around a plastic egg or stuff them.  You'll learn how to knit and purl with two colors, and how to work a tidy mattress stitch seam.  If fingering yarn sounds too tiny for you, you can up-size the eggs or bring along the pattern of your choice.  You can also knit the eggs in the round to avoid seaming them.
